The assessments focus on the application of knowledge to help you prepare for the health and safety tasks faced in the workplace. There are three ways in which qualification units are assessed:

DI1 – Know – workplace health and safety principles Assignment – workplace-based tasks together with simulations and reflective statements and a research topic3 4 weeks 300 Marks
DI2 – Do – controlling workplace health issues Scenario-based case study 2 weeks 175 Marks
DI3 – Do – controlling workplace safety issues Scenario-based case study 2 weeks 175 Marks

The qualification exclusively focused on common workplace issues. Hence the skills and competencies gained can be applied in various sectors by the health and safety professionals.

On accomplishing this qualification, learners can:

  • Advise the organization on the kinds of legislation to be applied, the role of guidance of ILO and non-government bodies and the purpose of enforcement actions.
  • Recognize and proactively communicate health and safety practices
    Guide organizations for a wide range of general workplace health and safety concerns that cover evaluating, controlling and monitoring the risks.
  • Establish a health and safety policy strategy that includes proactive safety management, CSR and change management process.
  • Effectively contribute to a risk management strategy.
  • Foster a positive health & safety culture.
  • Implement and perform audits for health and safety management systems.
  • Sustain the capabilities of individuals as well as organizations in maintaining health and safety.
  • Deal with contractors and supply chains and make sure to adhere to the relevant health and safety standards.
  • The NEBOSH Level 6 International diploma doesn’t have any mandatory requirements. However, learners are strongly recommended to take the NEBOSH International Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety first.
  • Learners should also have relevant English proficiency to understand the syllabus.
  • Learners should have a basic understanding of HSE principles such as hazard control, risk assessment, accident investigation and key standards.
The syllabus for NEBOSH IDip consists of only 3 units.
