OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Certification – IASP, US
OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Safety Training emphasizes the learners with comprehensive knowledge and skills to manage Occupational Health and Safety Management and enables them to identify, prevent, and control workplace hazards as well as assist to meet general industry OHS needs with OSHA compliance.
IASP – International Association of Safety Professionals delivers consultative services, training solutions, and third-party certifications on HSE management. IASP plays a vital role to provide health and safety training for the aspirants to carry out a workplace risk assessment in compliance with OSHA standards.
Mandatory – 13 hours
- Introduction to OSHA – 2 Hours
- Managing Safety and Health – 2 hours
- Managing safety and health includes injury and illness prevention sessions, accident prevention techniques, organization commitment, employee involvement in work, worksite analysis, prevention and control of hazards, accident investigation, how to conduct safety meetings, supervisory communication, etc.
- Walking and Working Surfaces, including fall protection – 1 hour
- Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection – 1 hour
- Electrical – 1 hour
- Personal Protective Equipment – 1 hour
- Hazard Communication – 1 hour
- Elective – 10 hours
- Must present a minimum of 10 hours on the below-mentioned topics. And at least 5 of the topics should be covered
- The minimum length for each topic can be one and a half an hour.
- Hazardous Materials (Flammable and Combustible Liquids, Spray Finishing, Compressed Gases, Dipping and Coating Operations)
- Permit-Required Confined Spaces
- Lockout / Tagout
- Machine Guarding
- Welding, Cutting, and Brazing
- Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Ergonomics
- Fall Protection
- Safety and Health Programs
- Powered Industrial Vehicles
- Optional – 7 hours
- Teach other general industry hazards or policies and/or expand on the mandatory or elective topics. Each topic may last for one-half hour.
Assessment and Certification
At the end of the OSHA General Industry Training, learners will be assessed with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and they have to score 70 % marks of the total to attain the “pass” category and can gain a certificate for successfully certified in the course assessment. Those who fail to meet the required criteria should undergo the assessment again.
